DESCRIPTION OF ACCOMMODATION

Bokhara Hutz Outback Accommodation is situated near the Bokhara River on the black soil plains 35 kilometres north of Brewarrina on the Goodooga road .Graham and Cathy Finlayson along with their daughter Harriet own and operates "Bokhara Hutz" on their 7,000 Hectare sheep and cattle station. Ideally located almost halfway between the opal mining Mecca of Lightning Ridge and historical Bourke with its new Outback Heritage centre on the banks of the mighty Darling river. Brewarrina itself is home to the oldest man-made structure in the world, the aboriginal fishtraps, supposedly built about 40,000 years ago. They are still clearly visible when the river is low and you can learn about them and much more at the Aboriginal Cultural Museum located just over the road. Bokhara Plains is holistically managed with a strong emphasis on the environment and using livestock to regenerate the semi-arid landscape. Their efforts have been rewarded regularly by winning several regional and state based awards. Wether you decide to stay for an extended time, a couple of days, to have a workshop or conference, or just overnight our hospitality will be guaranteed and being members of the 'Outbackbeds Network 'we can offer advice and recommend other destinations in the real outback where satisfaction will be guaranteed.
