The Yachthotel Chiemsee is a 4-star-hotel between Munich and Salzburg - beautiful situated on the western shore of the Chiemsee

The Yachthotel Chiemsee offers you 97 double or single rooms, there are included 2 rooms that are equiped for handycaped people, 2 rooms for allergy sufferers and 5 appartements.

In our rooms with lake view you´ll find additional a comfortable couch corner.

Our rooms facing the west- and the south are furnished with two King-Size-Beds (1,40 x 2,00m).

The Yachthotel Chiemsee is situated directly on the western shore of the lake chiemsee between Munich (ca. 85 km) and Salzburg (ca. 65 km).
You can reach the wonderful and historic city of Salzburg, with the birthplace of the classical composer W.A. Mozart, by car in ca. 45 minutes.
The provincial capital Munich is ca. 70 minutes away from Prien and offers many cultural highlights and even many shopping possibilities.

The region chiemgau is one of the oldest and most beautiful cultural regions in germany - especially the chiemsee with its islands "Herrenchiemsee" and "Frauenchiemsee". The wonderful landscape is suitable for all sportive- and cultural activities.

The Yachthotel Chiemsee has not only cultural highlights. There are also many possibilities for different sportive activities. You can go hiking in the mountains - only a few minutes away from the hotel - or go biking round the chiemsee or up the hills. On the big lake chiemsee you can go sailing, windsurfing or just paddle with a little boat. The chiemsee is one of the cleanest lakes in germany, so you can perfectly go swimming or just relax on a boat.

In the winter time you can go skiing or cross-country skiing. Only 30 minutes away by car - there is the skiing region "Steinplatte".

The island "Herrenchiemsee" is situated directly towards the Yachthotel Chiemsee and has two big highlights. At first the new castle of the famous "fairy-tale-king" Louis II., who also build castle "Neuschwanstein". In the castle there is also a museum about the life of King Louis II. The other cultural highlight on the island is the old castle which was before a "Augustinians cloister". King Louis II. lifed there also for a while. Besides there is a gallery of different painters of the chiemsee region.

The island "Frauenchiemsee" is like a little city with fisherman and no cars on it. You can enjoy the silence and relax on this idyllic and romantic little island. But also the island "Frauenchiemsee" has cultural highlights. On the one hand the oldest building in bavaria the "old gate hall" on the other hand a Benedictine cloister "Frauenwörth" with an old cathedral.
