Ičići is a picturesque, intimate, small seaside town located in the most beautiful part of the Gulf of Kvarner where the gentle slopes of Mount Učka descend towards the sea; a town that sprouted together with the lovely and far more renowned towns of Opatija and Lovran.
For more than 140 years Opatija has been one of the leading seaside resort towns on the Adriatic coast. It is situated on the eastern coast of Istria at the foot of the mountain Učka (1395m) which protects it from northerly and westerly winds. Opatija as a luxurious all year round tourist resort with more than 30 hotels, restaurants, gardens, parks, and promenades. The seaside promenade, which is about 12 km long, has been well known since the time of the Austro-Hungarian Emperor Francis Joseph and the nobility of the last century, who regularly stayed in Opatija.
