DESCRIPTION OF ACCOMMODATION

In the wonderful quiet country of Friesland lies close to the Waddenzee the mound village Marrum

In 1948, in the centre of the village on the top of the mound an infant school was build.

This school is now transformed to an inn, in which we would like to welcom you.

The inn is located in Marrum, a nice little village in the north of Friesland, close to the Waddenzee.
The land on the other side of the dyke by the sea is a protected area, where you can find many birds.
The village can be reached by the road N357 from Leeuwarden to Dokkum. Both historical city's with a lot of culture.
Marrum is also nearby Holwerd where the ferry sails to Ameland, one of the Frisian Islands.

The name Godot comes from the play "waiting for Godot" from Samuel Beckett.
The inn is our Godot, something we dreamed about and now finaly realized.

We have 2 bedrooms and a dormitory for 18 persons max. Both rooms have their own terras and bathroom with shower and toilet..

We also can offer you a simple "innmeal" at a price of 15,- per person, and we also have bikes for rent.

Our Offer
In our school we made 2 double rooms, one named Estragon, and one named Vladimir (as two of the caracters in the play).
Vladimir can be extended to a room for four persons. Both rooms have their own terras and bathroom with shower and toilet..
Beside this one of the classrooms is transformed to a dormitory for 18 persons. This dormitory also has its own terras.

Availability
As innkeepers we would like to offer something more then the standard bed & breakfast.
So besides the bedrooms we have a glazed verandah in the large garden.
In this garden-livingroom you can relax, if you want with the pleasure of a drink.
For our rooms we charge for Estragon € 30,- p.p.p.n. and for Vladimir € 35,- p.p.p.n.
If the room is booked for just one night we charge 5,- per room extra.

For a bed in the dormitory we charge € 25,- per person per night.
This includs the pleasure of the verandah and the garden, breakfast and taxes.

We also can offer you a simple "innmeal" at a price of € 15,- per person.

Because we like you to enjoy all the beauty that this part of Friesland has to offer, we also have bikes for rent.
If you want to rent a bike we would like to know this at least one day in advance so we can have them ready for use in time.

Marrum is one of the most beautiful of the terp villages in the north of Friesland.
The village has a terp that is pretty much unexcavated and has been lived on since the Middle Ages.
On the sea dike near Marrum there is an artwork by Ids Willemsma (known as “The Tray”) commemorating the raising of the dike to Delta height

And there is much more beauty to discover, especially by bike.
That is why we have bikes for rent. If you like this please let us know when you make the reservation.

There are a lot of cycling-tours that pass Marrum. One of them is the so-called and famous "Elfstedentocht".
